A Book of Diaspora/Disquiet
2024 - ongoing
Projection mapping, computer vision, embossed paper
Immigration-related challenges are pervasive for "foreigners" in the U.S, whether students, workers, refugees, or undocumented, uncertainty defines daily life: visa backlogs, policy shifts, ICE raids, and decades spent tethered to employers or bureaucracies. Those who live through this share an empathy that rarely surfaces in the mainstream myth of the American Dream. The installation gives form to that hidden emotional landscape, where projected light reveals text concealed within printed pages, making visible what documents cannot hold.
